You need a video input, or a tv card.

With the Tv card you can hook up the vids output into the antenna in of the card, then record it to whatever format comes with the card and converty to DVD and burn.

if u have a tv tuner card installed in your PC, it would be great. Connect your vcr to the tv tuner via RCA jack (AV in/out). Save the recorded movie to your PC first, then burn it to a DVD. hope this would help u...
You will need PCI card that is special for transferring video cassettes that was captured via analogue video cam into CD or DVD, like Pinnacle Dazzle or similar. Alternatively you can use some TV cards that have S Video, and/or line in/out. Not all TV cards have that so beware what you buy, read specifically for instruction as to whether the card has this specific capabilities. You also need a S video (one end) and Red,Yellow/white cable (at the other end unless both your video and card have S video in which case S video cable both ends). Then finally you need a video editing software to do this. Normally pinncle DAzzle or TV cards with this capabilities come with a software, but if you got it second and didnt have software you could try using the window movie maker or perhaps real player or window media player will be able to do the job for you. Its simple but you need playing with things a bit by testing things at first to ensure you got not only the motion but sound as well. This is done through setting in the software which gives you the option to pick sound card/microphone and the source of motion/sound which is your analogue video cam. You need to have your analogue video cam to play the cassette while the TV card or dazzle will record it either to your hard drive first but some softwares allow you to do direct transfer to a CD or DVD. good luck.
first you need a video capture device, like a capture card, to convert the video cassette into digital video and take it into your computer. most TV tuner cards will do.

then you need a DVD writer to burn the video you have captured.
If you don't need to edit your videos, then It's a lot easier to use a DVD recorder instead of the computer. You can get a decent DVD recorder from Target, Fry's or Best Buy for $100 or less.
to convert video cassetes to DVD,s follow these steps

you require a tv-tuner or a graphics card with TIVO capability to capture the video.

connect your VCR,s video out to tv-in of your card.

you will require a software to capture and encode the input from VCR.

WinDVR,Pinnacle studio,Power VCR are some of the softwares which will let you do that thing.

these softwares also supports encoding or burning to the DVD format.
