if you buy a external tv tune combo ,u can work when ur system cpu is off,

if u buy internal u have to onn ur system cpu but in internal u can capture image,video rec ,ins replay and also pause and play!!!

my suggestion is internal or external buy intex it gives good quality of video!!!
Try Pinnacle or Dazzle TV Tuner cards. It can give you good performance.
